Carter Studios is located in a rural area outside of Cleveland, Ohio. The exterior form of the building was designed to respond to the geometry of the acoustically sensitive studio spaces on the interior. Although acoustically isolated spaces typically lack glazing, this project integrates both visual connection and access to east and west facing terraces.

Barrier free design was a significant client requirement for this project. The location and orientation of windows and doors where designed to provide access and focused views to the rural landscape from the perspective of the client.
