The three acre site is located immediately adjacent to Preston Lake in Whitchurch, Ontario.  The house is sited on the edge of a small plateau with the rear yard rolling down toward the lake.

Indoor and outdoor spaces are organized to take advantage of the proximity to the forest and views to the lake beyond.  There are two outdoor terraces located adjacent to large expanses of floor to ceiling glass. The first is located immediately next to the main living areas and the second is a roof top terrace off the master suite.

A large kitchen and living area is centrally located within flowing spaces and two storey volumes. This reinforces strong visual connections for both daily living and when entertaining larger groups.  A minimal and natural material palette was selected for the interior to allow the surrounding landscape to become the focus within each room.
